Description Oldest Warship Afloat … U.S.F. Constellation, 38-gun frigate launched in 1794 in David Stodder's shipyard on Harris Creek. Nicknamed the "Yankee Race Horse", she was active through World War II when she served as a flagship for the Atlantic Fleet. Later she was refitted through donations and was destined to be moved to a permanent berth in Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
